Quarter-final time in Leinster Colleges championship

Athlone Community College and Marist College are both in action this coming week in the quarter-final of the Leinster A championship. On Thursday the Community College take on reigning All-Ireland champions St Mary’s Edenderry in a game likely to be played in Kiltoom.

There are two important games of local interest down for decision today (Friday) in the Leinster Senior A colleges football championship with a place in the last eight up for grabs. An all-Westmeath clash takes place when St Mary’s Mullingar welcome Marist College to town. Marist College will be fancied to progress but nothing can be taken for granted in this competition.

Leinster colleges championship gets underway

The Leinster colleges championship gets underway today (Friday) with a number of local schools in action. Athlone Community College take on Ardscoil na Trionoide in AIT at 1pm. While the Community College were victorious in the north Leinster League, championship provides an even greater challenge and this opening game is very much a banana skin for the league champions.
