Runners, joggers, and walkers in Claremorris and beyond are warming up for the first measured 10k event taking in the beautiful surrounds of Clare Lake.

The third annual Land of The Giants Christmas Duathlon in Claremorris takes place on December 27.

Claremorris was selected this week as one of nine towns in the country that will become an Active Travel Town. One of the best fields seen at a Connacht run/bike/run event assembled in Claremorris on Saturday December 28 for the annual Land of the Giants Duathlon. The wet stormy weather did not deter some 200 participants from taking part, for most it was a case of cabin fever and this event was the tonic to get out and about. On the day the weather gods were kind to the organisers, no wind or rain, just a nice calm overcast morning greeted the eager competitors.

Claremorris will be alive with excitement on Friday evening, June 14, as Western Lakes Cycling Club promote a criterium (crit) bike road race in the town centre of Claremorris. The circuit will be a 1.3km lap around the town centre incorporating a finish in the Square. Several primes (sprints) will be held during the race with live commentary throughout.
