The Aldi Foróige Youth Citizenship Awards took place in Citywest Hotel and Conference Centre recently where over 2300 young people from throughout Ireland showcased their work in the community. 204 groups took part in the awards with projects covering topics such as equality; homelessness; mental health; culture and much more.

Mayo GAA have lined up a series of fundraising events in the lead up to and after next Sunday's All Ireland senior football final in Croke Park. Islandeady Foróige Club scooped the Gold Star Award for its project "A village enhancement project including the re-development of a local slipway", and Cyber Crew Ballina Neighbourhood Youth Project won a Bronze Star Award for its project "An internet safety awareness campaign". There was lots of other Mayo involvement in the awards.
