Eight local Centra stores, Roche’s Centra Balla, Cuffe’s Centra Belmullet, Walsh’s Centra Kilmaine, Hennigan’s Centra Ballindine, Sheridan’s Centra Newport, Casey’s Centra Castlebar, Casey’s Centra Ballina, and Campbell’s Centra Killala, scooped the much coveted Excellence Ireland Supreme National Hygiene Award recently.

Centra’s, Ireland’s number one convenience retailer, community impact study reveals that Centra stores in Mayo sourced €3 million worth of products from local suppliers and contributes more than €117,000 in donations or sponsorship commitments to more than 245 local charities, community groups, schools, and sports clubs. As well as supporting local suppliers in 2013, stores also spent a substantial €688,000 with businesses in Mayo communities where its stores are located in 2013.

Seven local Centra Stores receive Supreme National Hygiene Award

Seven Centra stores in Mayo are celebrating after being presented with the Supreme National Hygiene Award at the recent 2014 Centra Quality Awards in Killarney. The awards, which identify and reward retailers that have gone above and beyond in their strive to maintain a consistently high level of hygiene in their stores over a three year period, were presented by Martin Kelleher, managing director of Centra, and Martin Roper, technical director of Excellence Ireland Quality Association. The seven Mayo stores that were presented with this prestigious award, were Roche’s Centra Balla, Cuffe’s Centra Belmullet, Walsh’s Centra Kilmaine, Mitchell’s Centra Moygownagh, Sheridan’s Centra Newport, Casey’s Centra Castlebar, and Casey/McShane’s Centra Ballina.

The 2010 GAA Hurling Championship was officially launched by uachtarán Chumann Lúthchleas Gael Criostóir Ó Cuana at Ballyboden St Enda’s on Tuesday last. Players from all four provinces, including 2009 All-Ireland winners and five in a row chasers Kilkenny, were in attendance at the Dublin club to mark the occasion.
