A group of top local musicians are uniting to stage a rock and roll extravaganza in Castlebar next weekend to raise awareness and funds for a suicide prevention initiative.

Castlebar music festival 2012 preparations get under way

Preparations for the Castlebar Music Festival 2012 are now under way with a new committee being recently formed after a series of public meetings that were held at Bar Ritz in Castlebar. The newly elected committee consists of Adrian Ryan (chairman), Paula McDonnell (secretary), Gary Monaghan (treasurer), and Finbar Hoban (public relations).

Finbar Hoban Presents... takes a trip to the movies on Saturday August 20 as a very special screening of the 1984 cult sci-fi classic The Terminator will take place at Bar Ritz in Castlebar.

Crimlin bands launch CD

The bands in the Crimlin Community Arts music collective will launch their first CD Abroad in Crimlin on Saturday December 13 at 8.30pm in the Castlebar Celtic Clubhouse. The CD will be launched by TV and radio personality Paraic Breathnach, founding member of Macnas, a community arts advocate more popularly known for his role as Jacksie in Killinaskully.
