There was praise from all political quarters this week for the work carried out by all those involved in the recent Titanic commemorations in Lahardane. Titanic lecture in Clifden

As part of its bicentenary town celebrations during 2012, Clifden in Connemara is hosting Philip Littlejohn, who will give a Titanic lecture to commemorate the town’s historic link to the Titanic via Jack Phillips (Titanic's senior radio operator) who worked at the Marconi Transatlantic Radio Station (1909 -12), which was located three miles south of Clifden.

Luisne Art Project at Museum of Country Life

The Luisne Art Project is showing its exhibition Insight at The National Museum of Country Life. This exhibition of art has come from its previous showing in Galway University Hospital and will be housed at the museum café until June 2011. Insight includes a special installation of four stained glass light boxes which were created by the group.
