Leading egg company Galway Free Range Eggs has this week announced its sponsorship of Paul Hession, the international 100m and 200m sprinter who represented Ireland at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

Olive Loughnane is the deserved toast of Loughrea, County Galway, and Ireland this week after becoming only the fourth Irish athlete to stand on the podium at a world athletic championship.

Let’s face it dear reader, this is the bleakest part of the year. Thankfully Garrycastle, Tubberclair, and Caulry all have Leinster club matches coming up and hopefully one or all of them can get on a run and give a timely boost to football in the county. Otherwise we’ll only have Donal Og’s personal life or Tadhg Kenelly’s ‘revelation’ to discuss and we don’t want that now do we?
