An Taoiseach Enda Kenny officially launched McDonald’s Castlebar restaurant last weekend following its extensive €350,000 refurbishment. A Ballyhaunis man who pleaded guilty to an assault charge arising out of an incident where he ended up throwing a pint glass at a barmaid and narrowly missing her has had the sentencing in his case adjourned until April 1, while a probation report is carried out on him. However, he was warned by Judge Mary Devins that this was something she was taking very seriously and “could warrant a custodial sentence.”

The property at Gloves sold for €31,000 while the property at Lenamore sold for €44,000. These properties attracted more than 10 bidders each.
