The planning is well underway for the welcomed return of Ireland’s largest horse racing festival, the Galway Races that takes place from Monday July 25 to Sunday 31st July for one action packed week and this week Galway Racecourse announced a new sponsor to their race week programme, ‘ Bathshack’ the UK’s and Irelands top bathroom retailer.

Galway Racecourse, traditionally home to Ireland’s largest horse racing festival, the iconic ‘Galway Races’ had a busy 2021 despite a challenging year. In accordance with Covid protocols a lot still happened throughout the year at the Ballybrit venue.

The Galway City Council is continuing discussions with the Galway Racecourse about operating a park and ride facility at Christmas.

Only 1,000 spectators will be permitted to attend each day of the Galway Races summer festival.

The Covid-19 vaccination centre at the Galway Racecourse will continue to operate during the Galway Races but will offer a reduced service for the duration of the annual summer festival which begins on July 26.
