The latest Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI)/Done Deal Motor Industry Review has highlighted a strong performance in the first half of the year for the industry, followed by a slowing down of new car sales from August onwards.

New car registrations slowed last month, reflecting the drop for the 162 period.

The Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) issued the official 162 car registrations for the month of August, showing an increase of 14 per cent (7,313) when compared to August 2015 (6,400).
