Thirty five choirs will take part in the ever-popular Mayo International Choral Festival which will include several evening performances with stellar line-ups in venues all over Mayo, as well as pop-up mini performances on the Songway Choral Trail and competitions during the day, the festival runs from Wednesday, May 22 to Sunday, May 26.

The bright, warm and long evenings during the month of May are very much on the minds of choirs this month as the countdown to the choir entry deadline of Wednesday January 31 draws near. The organisers of the now well-established Mayo International Choral Festival have been inundated with inquiries for this May, with many returning choirs, which is most unusual considering that choirs tend to visit a different location each year.

Mayo will be in full voice at the end of May as more than 1,400 singers will take part in the sixth Mayo International Choral Festival, performing songs and pieces from many genres, including jazz, pop, folk, sacred and gospel music. Mayo in May is the mecca for all music lovers!
