Employment law guidance for local businesses

CIPD Midlands Region and Collins McNicholas will host a major employment law breakfast briefing on Wednesday January 22 in the Sheraton Athlone Hotel.

They are inviting along clients from multinational, Irish indigenous, SMEs, and public sector from across the region to hear an overview on recent updates in legislation - covering key areas such as: dealing with legal issues around social media in the workplace, an update on corporate bullying and retirement ages in the Irish context, selection criteria for redundancies, and the use of the employment law injunction provisions.

Key note speak will be Alastair Purdy, partner in Purdy FitzGerald Solicitors, will also focus on the recent developments regarding fixed term workers as well as giving a general update on the most recent changes within legislation.

Alastair himself is an expert in labour law having spent a number of years working at HR director and manager level within the manufacturing, retail, and financial services sectors. He brings a HR practitioner’s view to employment matters backed with sound legal advice and expertise.
