Music, dance, and record attempts for St Patrick’s Day

The Mullingar St Patrick’s Day parade takes place this Sunday March 17 at 3pm. The street entertainment this year begins at 2pm throughout the town and will include an arts and crafts exhibition, inflatable funzone, tug-o-war competition, display by local dance school, and much more. This year will also see live music in Market Square from 5.30pm onwards.

All float entries are to assemble between Alan Bardon Motors, Patrick Street and the Ballymahon Road roundabout on the C-Link. Vehicles participating are to arrive for their designated positions between 1.30 and 2.30pm. All groups and individuals walking in the parade are to assemble in Alan Bardon Motors only - and not before 2.15pm.

The parade will begin at 3pm sharp. Unfortunately, due to health and safety and insurance restrictions the distribution of sweets, lollipops, etc by any participant in the parade is strictly prohibited.

Don’t forget to come along to the ‘Paddy’s Gathering Challenge’ at 6pm in Oliver Plunkett Street, Mullingar. If your name is Patrick, Padraig, Pat, Paddy, Paidi, Patricia, Patrice, Patsy, or any other variation of Patrick please come along and help us try to set a world record for the most Paddys in the one place, at the one time on St Patrick’s Day! All you need to do is bring any form of photo ID that includes your name.
