Swinford St Patrick's Day parade

The 67th Swinford St Patrick's Day parade will be held on Saturday, March 17. The parade will commence from the Swinford Amenity Park at 3pm. The parade organisers invite everyone in Swinford to get out and celebrate the day and to co-operate with the organisers and gardai to ensure that everybody has an enjoyable and safe day. The prize giving presentation for the winners of the parade awards will take place on Sunday, March 18, in the Gateway Hotel in Swinford at 8pm.

Memorial Tractor Run

The Annual JJ McHugh Memorial Tractor Run in aid of Mayo Roscommon Hospice takes place on Easter Monday, April 2, commencing at 2pm from Julian's of Midfield, Swinford. Registration takes palce at 1pm. All types of tractors, vintage, and trucks are welcome. Entry fee os €20. Contact Mary on (085 ) 7477678 or Jarlath on (086 ) 4045133. Looking for volunteers for Daffodil Day

The organisers of Daffodil Day in Charlestown are looking for volunteers for Daffodil Day which takes place on Friday, March 23. For further information contact Noirin at Charlestown Library at (094 ) 9255934 or (086 ) 3836078. All the money will go toward the Irish Cancer Society.

Mindfulness comes to Charlestown

A Self Care to Wellness morning programme will get under way on Tuesday, March 20, in Charlestown Library. If you have a long term health condition this programme may be of interest to you. This is a six week programme delivered in 2.5 hour weekly sessions where you will learn new skills to manage your health condition on a day to day basis.

This programme will commence on Tuesday, March 20, in Charlestown Library and will run from 10.30am to 1pm. You must register in advance as places are limited to 15 participants.

The cost of the programme is €20, which will cover registration and a manual for participants. You do not have to disclose your health condition on the programme. Easter craft fair this Sunday

An Easter craft fair will take place in Carracastle Community Centre on Sunday, March 11. If you would like to have a table at the fair call (086 ) 1661096.

Tooreen dinner dance

After the postponement last weekend due the adverse weather, Tooreen Hurling Club will host its annual dinner dance on Saturday, March 31, in the Park Hotel in Kiltimagh at 7.30pm. The members of the senior panel will be presented with their medals for winning the Mayo and Connacht championship. Tickets are available from club officers.

On the stage in Knock

The Knock Drama Group will be performing The Decision in Carty's Lounge in Knock for two nights this month. Performances will take place this evening, March 9, and tomorrow, March 10.

Kilmovee 10km

The ninth annual Kilmovee 10km takes place on Saturday, March 31, at 1pm. The event will start at Kilmovee Shamrocks GAA Club with the proceeds going to Kilmovee Shamrocks and the Mayo Roscommon Hospice palliative care service. There will be cash prizes for all categories, and refreshments will be avilable after the race in the community centre.
