JFC Marine winner of the 'Excellence in Marine Technology'

JFC Marine was awarded the 'Excellence in Marine Technology Award' for its range of floating aids at the Marine Industry Awards. In association with SeaFest, the award ceremony provides a voice for the individuals and companies that play a significant role in the growth and development of the industry in Ireland, while recognising the key functions within the industry that promote growth and sustainability.

More than 400 leading marine industry professionals were recognised and celebrated in front of an audience of their peers.

Speaking about the award, JFC Marine's Colin Concannon said, "We are honoured to be recognised in these awards, and I would like to extend my thanks to all the team at JFC for this outstanding achievement.

"This product range reflects the high level of innovation, commitment, and dedication of the JFC workforce to deliver innovative solutions to marine sector both on a national and international scale."

Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Michael Creed, handed out 19 prestigious trophies on the night, and the company, located on the Tuam Road, was a deserving winner, according to all involved.

"With our new buoy design and with the advances in technology, we are now capable of adding new technologies and sensors to our buoys to provide real-time information to pilots at sea, information such as wave height, wind speed, and water currents," said Concannon.

"This gives the pilots more control on the shipping vessel and will contribute to the safe transport of imports and export."

By addressing key design criteria, JFC buoys can reduce costs and maximise servicing intervals.

Safe access for maintenance personnel and ease of operation has been prioritised, as have all deployment, mooring, and retrieval requirements.
