Will you be the Last One Standing?

Do you love a competitive run? Are you a challenge junkie? Do you strive to do better by the minute? Then challenge yourself, become Ireland’s Last One Standing on Saturday July 23 in Westport. Runners will be running to beat the clock in completing a 3.8km loop in 30 minutes, easy! Can you complete it in 29 minutes, 28 minutes? Men and women will not compete against each other, only the last male and the last female will be rewarded for being the Last One Standing.

Runners have 30 minutes to complete the first loop, once finished each loop, runners will enter the holding area and wait for the start of the next loop. The next loop must be completed in 29 minutes. Any runner not finished inside the time limit will be disqualified. The time will be reduced by one minute for every loop until there is only one runner at the start line. This runner will be the Last One Standing.

There will be separate prizes for last male and last female standing. When there are two remaining and both finish outside the allotted time for that loop the winner will be the one who crossed the finish line first. All runners with the exception of the winner will be an official DNF (did not finish ) and will get a medal to prove it. The race is not about being the fastest. Remember at the start of each loop all surviving runners are on equal standing. All participants will receive a medal and Last One Standing T-shirt.

Pacing is everything. If you are not a runner, that’s OK! Apart from supporting and cheering for the runners there will be variety of activities to keep family/friends occupied, music entertainment, wall climbing, and much more at Westport Skate Park. The cost of entry is €30 with online entry at www.runireland.com
