Exciting clashes coming up in the Super League

Castlebar Celtic v Ballyglass

Saturday, July 2 at 7pm

In Celtic Park

Both sides come into this game on the back of defeats last weekend in round eight. The hosts had six put past them in Belleek by league leaders Ballina Town, while Ballyglass were somewhat surprisingly turned over by Glenhest Rovers 2-0 on the road. Celtic will be itching to get back to winning ways when they host the central Mayo outfit on Saturday night and coach Ciaran Kelly will have been working hard to make sure their defensive performance is much better this time around.

Verdict: Draw

Glenhest Rovers v Iorras Aontaithe

Saturday, July 2 at 7pm

In Glenhest

The home side picked up their second league win of the season last weekend with a 2-0 win over Ballyglass thanks to a brace from Kevin Warde, and they will be eyeing this game up for league win number three when the Erris men come calling. Iorras were beaten 4-1 by Westport United at home last weekend after Jamie Flannery put them ahead 12 minutes in, but the Covies hit them for four goals in a 41 minute spell in the middle section of the game. With just four points separating the bottom five sides in the league as it reaches its half-way point a win for either side will be vital to leave some space between them and the rest in race from the bottom.

Verdict: Glenhest Rovers

Claremorris v Ballyheane

Sunday, July 3 at 2.30pm

In Concannon Park

This is another clash of two sides who head into the game on the back of the defeats last weekend. The home side were beaten 3-2 by bottom of the table Conn Rangers who saw them off by the odd goal in five, despite Dean Roddy hitting a brace for them. They will welcome a Ballyheane side who fell to their fifth defeat of the league so far when Manulla saw them off 3-2 in Carramore in a local derby last weekend. Just two points separate these sides in the table and a win for the visitors would see them leap over Claremorris in the standings.

Verdict: Ballyheane

Manulla v Ballina Town

Sunday, July 3 at 2.30pm

In Carramore

Can anyone stop Ballina Town, in their seven league games so far they have won seven, hit the back of the net 28 times and only conceded three goals over the 630 minutes they have played so far this season. Last weekend Ballina Town put six past Castlebar Celtic at home and on Sunday they will roll into Carramore looking to make it eight from eight against fourth placed Manulla. The homeside head into the game on the back of a hard fought 3-2 win over Ballyheane, but this will be a very serious test for them on Sunday. Manulla will need to keep it tight at the back and hope to pick off Ballina, but the north Mayo men should have too much for them on Sunday.

Verdict: Ballina Town

Westport United v Conn Rangers

Sunday, July 3 at 2.30pm

In The Sportspark

The visitors picked up their first league win of the season last weekend when they saw off Claremorris 3-2 at home, if they are to pick up win number two, they will need a really big performance and a big slice of luck when they head to The Sports Park on Sunday. The defending champions shook off the going behind early on on the road to Iorras Aontaithe last weekend to hit them for four goals in an impressive 41 minute period to pick up win number five of the season, and it looks like this game will go one way, with John Brennan's side picking up another three points at home.

Verdict: Westport United.
