The Castlebar Adventure Duathlon is now longer but considerably flatter than its predecessor at 39k, with No Booster Mountain to climb no Rathbawn hills to cycle the new course is more forgiving. There is only one distance this year for individuals but there is a relay option and this category has proven very popular throughout the series.

The beautifully laid out playground is a perfect setting with vast open space for spectators to lounge while taking in the electric atmosphere of the event, children can play in the safety of a closed in environment while parents watch on.

The first run takes in part of the new Greenway to Turlough, after 2.5k a sharp turn left uphill takes participants onto the old Turlough Road finishing back at the Springfield playground using Rowan Drive. The cycle course is pretty flat with the odd hill; the route starts at Rowan drive turning right for Turlough, left for Parke before returning via the Pontoon rd and Rowan drive to transition at Springfield playground. The last run is 5k going out and back course on the greenway to Turlough turning at the N5 tyre centre and Finishing back at the Springfield playground.
