Two hundred and fifteen apply to Knock Marriage Introductions

Last year the Knock Marriage Introduction Service celebrated its 48th year of introducing people and it had 215 applications from all over the country and the UK to the service. The service, which is Ireland's oldest dating agency, started in 1968, claims to have 930 marriages over the the past 48 years and last year it had five marriages and three engagements from people who met through the service.

Breaking down the applications to the service last year, the largest numbers came from the west of the country, with 30 applications from Mayo, 25 from Galway, 12 from Roscommon, 11 from Sligo, and six from Leitrim, with two applications from both England and Scotland also looking for introductions.
