Metallica tribute band ‘Whiplash’ to rock Garbo’s next month

For all you rockers out there, Finbar Hoban Presents will bring Metallica tribute act, Whiplash, to Garbos on Saturday, March 12.

Whiplash is Ireland's leading Metallica tribute band. Hailing from Galway, the band was formed in the late 1990s by current members, longtime friends and die hard Metallica fans Martyn Weesjes (guitar/vocals ) and John Cullen (lead guitar ).

In 2013, Weesjes and Cullen were joined by Keith Hughes on bass (returning member ) and Brendan Kenny on drums. The band spent many years gigging around Galway, but in 2013 and with bigger goals in mind they took things to another level by playing all around Ireland. As a result, Whiplash is now well established group, putting on high energy, professional performances and replicating the sound, image and vibe of a Metallica's live shows.

The band's large catalogue of songs includes classics like "One", "Master of Puppets", "Blackened", "Enter Sandman", "Fade to Black" and "Creeping Death", to name just a few. Whiplash is dedicated to playing the songs as close to the originals as possible. As they are all huge Metallica fans, they know exactly how to achieve this.

This is a great opportunity to hear the music of Metallica played the way it should be played, and to experience the vibe and sound that Metallica shows are known for.

Whiplash play Garbos in Castlebar on March 12. Admission costs €8. For further information visit finbarhobanpresents.com
