Don't be an 'amber gambler'.
That is the message of a new road safety campaign by county councils in Mayo and Galway.
The campaign, called 'Use Your Head, Stop On Red', is urging motorists to avoid causing crashes and traffic jams by stopping safely for red lights, and not taking the risk of entering junctions on an amber light.
Castlebar's Superintendent Joe McKenna said An Garda Síochána supports the new campaign.
