Claremorris to get pedestrian crossing at Ballyhaunis road

Mayo County Council is to install a new pedestrian crossing at the post office on the Ballyhaunis Road, Claremorris.

Local representative Cllr Tom Connolly (FG ) said it is being installed as part of the Smarter Travel initiative being rolled out in the town.

The Smarter Travel programme supports towns to promote more sustainable travel options, such as cyling and walking, as more attractive and safer in the urban environment.

“I am delighted the crossing will be installed,” said Cllr Connolly. ”This is welcome news for the people of Claremorris at this very busy road.”
