Ryan’s SuperValu Ballyhaunis, Kavanagh’s SuperValu Westport, Castlebar, Kiltimagh, and Claremorris, Sweeney’s SuperValu Achill, and Moloney’s SuperValu Ballina, were all presented with the Supreme Excellence Ireland Quality Award. These leading SuperValu stores completed the SuperValu national hygiene and food safety programme, which is independently audited and identifies and rewards retailers that have performed to a consistently high level over a three-year period. One other store in the Mayo region, Cummins SuperValu Ballinrobe was presented with the Excellence Ireland National Hygiene and Food Safety certificate, which is an independent verification of the highest standards of operational hygiene and food safety in the food sector business. Commenting at the awards, Martin Kelleher, managing director, SuperValu, said: “This is a fantastic endorsement for SuperValu retailers in Mayo and a real testament to the efforts of their management team and staff. The quality awards recognise continued commitment to maintaining excellent hygiene and food safety standards.
