No plans to sell Ballycroy Park

The Minister for Arts, Heritage, and the Gaeltacht, Jimmy Deenihan, has said there are no plans - whatsoever - to sell national parks or to privatise the management, preservation, or conservation of these parks.

Ballycroy National Park is one of six parks nationwide.

Minister Deenihan made the statement following a report in a national newspaper this week, which pointed to possible changes in the National Parks and Wildlife Service.

“There are no plans whatsoever to sell these parks,” said Minister Deenihan. “There are no plans whatsoever to privatise the management, preservation, and conservation of these parks.”
