Man took exception to being called a ‘blow-in’

A man who took exception to being called a ‘blow-in’, which led him into a verbal altercation during a night out, was before Castlebar District Court for the public order charge.

On March 18 2013 at 3.25am gardaí observed Ian Burke 66 Knockthomas, Castlebar, in a verbal altercation outside the Welcome Inn with a number of other males. He was agressive and shouting and had alcohol consumed. He was asked to leave the area by gardaí but failed to do so.

Judge Mary Devins directed that if he contribute €100 to Mayo Mountain Resuce the Probation Act would be applied. The judge commented that Mayo Mountain have done such an amazing job recently and “my admiration for them knows no bounds.”
