Senator Mark Daly outlines details of property tax to Castlebar meeting

More than 100 people were in attendance at the Fianna Fáil property tax public information meeting in the Welcome Inn Hotel, Castlebar, on Monday night.

The meeting was organised by Fianna Fáil local area representative, Lisa Chambers, who invited Senator Mark Daly, a qualified auctioneer and valuer, to give the presentation.

In his address, Senator Daly outlined all details of the property tax and how it would affect various home and property owners.

Senator Daly also dealt with a wide range of questions from the floor for over an hour.

All present were very appreciative of the information he imparted, and of the insight he provided on the actual operation of the tax and the collection mechanisms which will be operated in its administration.

The meeting was attended by Cllr Blackie Gavin, Cllr Brendan Mulroy, Cllr Michéal McNamara, Chomhairle Cheantar chair Junior Prendergast, Castlebar Cumann chair Conor Smyth, and David Gallagher of Ógra.
