Children get fit, rock out and have a blast

High energy fitness children’s classes that offer real results and are packed with specially choreographed routines and the latest music, like hip-hop, reggaeton, and cumbia are starting in Castlebar.

Zumbatomic classes increase focus and self-confidence, boost metabolism, and improve co-ordination.

Lorraine Toner is a fully licensed zumba instructor and is recently qualified to teach children how to get fit with zumbatomic. Lil Starz classes are for children aged four to seven, while Big Starz is for kids aged eight to 12 years.

The goal is to develop a healthy lifestyle and to incorporate fitness as a natural part of children's lives. Zumbatomic also considers other aspects such as confidence, balance, and creativity.

Challenging moves are simplified so that children can feel a sense of accomplishment, without frustration. Smaller children also learn direction such as left versus right. And last, but not least, zumbatomic classes include games to develop their skills, keep them interested and have fun.

A Lil Starz class runs for 45 minutes and Big Starz runs for one hour. Classes start Saturday April 20 in Castlebar Tennis Club at 10.30am for Lil Starz and 11.15am for Big Starz.

There will be a free taster class and registration at 5.30pm in Castlebar Tennis Club Monday April 15.

Children act differently when their parents are around, so parents will not be present during the class. That is why you are invited in on Monday evening to sign up, talk to Lorraine Toner, a registered zumba instructor, and watch a short taster class.
