St Geralds College art students work on show at Linenhall

On exhibition in the Linenhall are examples of group work by the first year art students in work in 2D relief with accompanying 3D creatures.

All of the works are somewhat inspired by the work of Mexican Artist Frida Kahlo. The students have created a lively textural work which portrays their unique style yet links together as a colourful group piece.

The fifth year art students working around the theme ‘forgotten’ have created individual interpretations of the theme in order to produce a range of artefacts from linoprints on the sub-theme of homelessness and 3D structures highlighting the loneliness of the aged, to remembering the deeds of forgotten soldiers from world wars. The students’ individual art statements are presented next to their work, describing their work.
