Fine for man test driving car with no insurance

A Czech man living in Ballyhaunis pleaded guilty to driving without insurance and a driving licence in Ballyhaunis District Court this week.

Patrik Zouzal of 15 The Maples, Ballyhaunis, was stopped by gardaí at a check point at Hazel Hills, Ballyhaunis, on May 23 2012 and asked to produce his driving licence and insurance within 10 days. He failed to do so and was summoned to appear in court this week. Solicitor for Zouzal, Mr Evan O’Dwyer, told the court that his client had taken the car for a test drive after his wife had complained that it was not working properly and there was a problem with a thermostat. He was driving to see what was wrong. For driving without insurance he was convicted and fined €300 and for driving with no driving licence he was convicted and fined €75.
