John McNicholl to play benefit dance for Western Care

John McNicholl has announced that he will play a benefit dance for Western Care Association in the Park Hotel, Kiltimagh, on Friday, November 16. This will be John’s only appearance in Mayo in the coming month and is sure to attract a huge following. This event is being organised by Derek Higgins, a 28-year-old from Shanaghmoyle, Knock, who will run the New York City Marathon for Western Care Association this Sunday, November 4. He is the first Mayo person to run the marathon in the Big Apple for the association and intends to raise significant funds for Western Care.

From working as a chef to becoming a household name in the Irish country music scene, the past four years have certainly changed for John McNicholl. Hailing from Forglen, Derry, John’s talent emerged during his school days, having taken to the stage as lead role in various musicals and productions. Growing up in a family of 15, John’s taste in music was influenced by greats in both Irish and American country music such as Vince Gill, Daniel O’Donnell, Dolly Parton, Keith Urban and Martina McBride. Having now recorded six albums, John’s stage show portrays his powerful, distinctive, vocal ability, and his ever welcoming stage presence to audiences far and wide has earned him a very strong loyal fan base over the last few years. He has also gone on to earn respect among his musical peers having performed alongside Daniel O’Donnell and Cliff Richard and was a supporting act for the legendary Elton John. John has also won many awards including best newcomer award from Country Music UK.

Tickets for John McNicholl’s Dance for Western Care in the Park Hotel on November 16 are now on sale and are available from the Park Hotel, from Western Care centres in Kiltimagh, Kilkelly, Ballyhaunis, and Claremorris, and on the door on the night.
