MAYO SPCA

Mayo SPCA are looking for caring homes for their rescued animals, some of which are shown here but others can be seen on their web site www.mayospca.com Please call 094 963 1888 if you can offer a rescued animal a permanent or temporary home. Telephone lines are manned seven days a week from 10am to 5pm and are very busy, please leave a message and your number if your call is not answered and it will be returned as soon as possible.  Mayo SPCA would like to advise members of the public that it is a voluntary organisation with a no kill policy.

Poppy is a cross bred Labrador eight months old. Unfortunately Poppy's owner passed away and she was left alone for two days in the house before being rescued. Naturally this has left her with a sense of insecurity and she does not like to be left alone for long periods of time. She is in excellent physical condition, having been spayed, vaccinated, and treated for worms/fleas. An absolutely adorable creature, she is very affectionate, gentle, and well trained for her age, obedient and responds well to commands. Poppy is house trained, loves the company of other dogs and is kind to cats and goats, but should not be left alone with hens. A home is sought with someone who has time to spend with her or another dog as companion, a safe garden is advised for when an owner is away. She is a loyal dog and has such a lot to give.

Harry is a Labrador approximately one-year-old. He was apparently abandoned in the Castlebar area and taken into a vets by a member of the public. He is in good physical condition, has been neutered, vaccinated, and treated for worms/fleas. Harry is quiet and placid by nature, great with other dogs, obedient, and walks well on a lead. He would be an ideal pet for someone who is at home for at least part of the day, has a secure garden and where he would be able to live as part of the family. Harry has a super temperament, is affectionate, friendly, and no trouble to care for.

Jack is just one of the many cats/kittens in the care of Mayo SPCA. A handsome looking male, Jack is neutered, litter trained and vaccinated. He would not mind living in an outdoor situation with a dry, clean, shed for shelter. In return he would do a good job of keeping a property rodent free, is an independent cat and would not require fussing and petting.

Frodo is a small pony rescued from the pound to avoid his certain death. At the time he was in very poor condition, but has now been fully restored to good health, has been castrated and needs a home of his own.  A good companion pony he is not yet broken and therefore not yet suitable for riding. However, he would be a great pet to have around the place and has a quiet nature.
