Corrib Gas/Carne Pro-Am 2012

The annual Corrib Natural Gas/Carne Golf Links Pro-Am takes place at the scenic links course in Belmullet on June 16 to 17, and has attracted another quality field of golfers and large crowds are expected over the weekend. It is expected that over 50 teams will take part in this year’s event and, as usual, a professional who will be bidding for a slice of the €20,000 prize fund on offer will join forces with three amateurs.

The Corrib Gas Partners are the main sponsors of the event again this year.

Gerry Campbell, Project Director with Shell E&P Ireland Limited (operators of the Corrib gas project ), expressed his delight at the company’s association with the event. “We have supported the Carne Pro-Am for many years now because we know what an important weekend in the community calendar it is. Many of our staff play the Carne links course on a regular basis and many have played in the pro-am in the past, so it is something we are very proud to be part of,” he said. While entries for the competition have been flooding in over the past two months, there are still a few places remaining. Anyone wishing to register a team can do so by visiting the website, www.carnegolflinks.com, or by calling Mary Walsh at 097 82292.
