Classic car rally comes to Castlebar for Ireland’s first children’s hospice

From September 16 to 19, 60 people will take to 40 classic cars and travel 1,100 kilometres around the four provinces of Ireland in aid of Ireland’s first children’s hospice, The Children’s Sunshine Home/LauraLynn House, including a visit to Castlebar on Sunday September 18 from 12.30pm to 2.30pm where people can see the classic cars and have the opportunity to donate to the fund. The rally will also travel to Clonmel, Galway, Ballyshannon, and Monaghan.

LauraLynn House, due to be opened in September 2011, will be part of the Children’s Sunshine Home and will be Ireland’s only children’s hospice (compared with 42 in the UK. ) The facility is urgently needed as there are more than 1,400 children with life-limiting conditions and more than 300 child deaths a year.
