Joe Fury and the Hayride release new album

Joe Fury and the Hayride are based on the Galway/Mayo border, renowned for their high energy live performances and unique combination of roots music styles - described by Chez Draper (Austin Producer ) as “Red hot rockabilly, country boogie, swampin’ jumpin’ blue-grassy feel at its best“. The feel, grit, and swing in Joe’s voice is backed by the driving line-up of doghouse bass, real pickin' guitar, swinging drums, and that slidin' lap steel, along with some wailin’ harp.

The band are named in tribute to the Louisiana Hayride which was a country music radio show broadcast from Shreveport, Louisiana, that during its heyday from the late forties to the late fifties helped to launch the careers of some of the greatest names in American music including Elvis Presley, Hank Williams, Johnny Horton, Johnny Cash, and Lefty Frizzell. Joe Fury and The Hayride’s new album Hey !Hey! Hey! is now available in all good record stores including The Music Store on the Market Square, Castlebar.

Anyone who claims not to like rockabilly cannot be fully right; when it is done with great skill it sounds simple, melodic, and beautiful, it makes you smile and want to move, that is exactly what Joe Fury and The Hayride's album, Hey Hey Hey' achieves. You can catch Joe Fury and the Hayride live in the Cafe Bar of the TF Royal Hotel Theatre on Saturday August 20 straight after the Brad Paisley show.
