A man who, when arrested for being intoxicated in public, urinated all over the cell door and floor in Castlebar Garda Station, was given the Probation Act at Castlebar District Court this week.
The facts of the case, which were heard at a previous court sitting, outlined that Eamonn Dunne, Flat 1, JBTV Centre, Castlebar, was placed in a cell on June 26 after being arrested for being drunk on Pound Road. Dunne urinated in the cell, which cost €50 to clean.
At this week’s sitting the court heard that the father of one has not taken alcohol since the last court and is trying to obtain work in Sweden.
Judge Mary Devins applied the Probation Act.
