Saw Doctors and Smyths Toys team up for charity

The Saw Doctors and Smyths Toys are joining forces this week in a novel scheme to raise funds for the Society of St Vincent de Paul this Christmas. Smyths Toys will donate one euro to St Vincent de Paul for every download of the new a cappella version of ‘Red Cortina’ by The Saw Doctors, which goes on sale from iTunes Ireland from today.

The Saw Doctors and Smyths Toys hope to raise €10,000 for the St Vincent de Paul by encouraging a minimum of 10,000 people in Ireland to download the new a cappella version of ‘Red Cortina’ from iTunes Ireland between December 3 and 10.

‘Red Cortina’ a cappella will cost 99 cent to download from iTunes Ireland from Friday December 3, and as well as the music track, iTunes will allow you to download a free Saw Doctors comic which has been specially designed by Tuam artist Squigley McHugh. ‘Red Cortina’ (First love stays with you forever ) was written over 20 years ago by Leo Moran and Davy Carton of The Saw Doctors and it was first published on the band’s debut album, If This Is Rock & Roll I Want My Old Job Back, in 1991.
