Adebisi Shank starts the Christmas cheer at Finbar Hoban Presents

Adebisi Shank Play Bar Ritz (Mulroy’s Bar ) in Castlebar tonight Friday December 11 as part of the Finbar Hoban Presents big Christmas party.

It has been a long six months since Adebisi Shank played Bar Ritz back in June of this year and, for those of you who missed that spectacular show, here is your chance to catch one of Ireland’s best live bands in action for the last time for quite a while as the band plan to start writing and recording new material for their second album in early January.

Adebisi Shank are an electric, energetic, loud band from Wexford. In recent months they have had support slots with American rockers Faith No More and lead singer Joe Lally from Fugazi. With a tour of Japan under their belts with Lite and having toured the UK shores and Ireland and Europe many a time, Adebisi Shank needs no introduction to how things are achieved. DIY ethics coupled with a limitless barrier of ideas is how this band will eventually have their listeners eating out of their hands.

Already picking up plenty of music fans on their path, they have also picked up the interest of filmmakers and producers alike. Their music has been featured in two films including Danger High Voltage, which won the Galway Film Fleadh festival and was also shown at the Electric Picnic festival two years ago, and on RTE television just recently.

Marvins Revolt will play support on the night and they are also the first international act to grace the stage at Bar Ritz. Marvins Revolt hail from Denmark and have just released their third full length album titled Patrolling The Heights. The band have recently taken an international leap, embarking on a series of virtually endless tours all over Europe. Rumours of this awe-inspiringly tight live act began to spread and the band signed with a number of international indie labels.

Now Marvins Revolt return to live stages all over the world sporting their follow-up album; they have shifted focus from angular rhythmic antics to a more elegantly finished song writing, albeit mediated through a raw, analogue soundscape. However Marvins Revolt are still frighteningly tight, catchy and melodic — and their lust for further adventures remains very much intact. Start your Christmas season off at Bar Ritz tonight as one of the most exciting bands in Ireland plays Bar Ritz with support from Marvins Revolt. Special Guest DJ will be Josh Clarke from i102-104 radio and there will also be a very special drinks promotion with bottles of Leck Polish beer and Strapomeen Prague all €3.
