Mayor backs chamber voucher initiative

Castlebar Chamber of Commerce has launched a gift voucher initiative. Mayor of Castlebar Councillor Michael Kilcoyne launched the voucher at the Chamber offices on Monday night. “I think this is an excellent idea being promoted by the Chamber of Commerce,” he told members at the launch. “The voucher is guaranteed and you can use it in 33 different outlets around the town. Even if you don’t use it inside one year the chamber will extend the date of the voucher. That is really welcome.”

Chamber president Peter Glynn said this was an example of the chamber promoting and supporting local businesses in the run up to the busy festive period. “What’s special about this voucher is that it gives choice to the consumer with over 30 outlets participating,” added Mr Glynn.

The voucher is now available to purchase at the chamber office on Linenhall Street, Castlebar, for any denomination. It is the perfect Christmas present and an excellent Christmas bonus present which employers can give to their employees, benefiting from a tax exemption.

The businesses participating in the voucher scheme are: Albany, Anna’s Fashion, Archway Stores, Bar One, Bosh, The Cleaning Corporation, County Cleaners, Deeley’s Opticians, Eddie Egan Jewellers, Exposure, Elvery’s Outlets Castlebar, Gifts Supreme, Helena Chocolates, Henaghan's Health Food Store, Hurst Heating & Plumbing, Hynes Shoes, Leo Doherty’s Menswear, Specsavers, Oliver Kelleher’s, Rowland Pharmacy, Easons, Lough Lannagh Holiday Village, Turlough Museum Gift Shop, Shaw’s Department Store, Staunton’s Pharmacies, Fahey’s, Elvery Sports, Staunton’s Health Food, Stauntons One Hour Photo, and Urban Retreat.
