Greenfield diary farm open days spark national interest

The Greenfield Dairy Project in Kilkenny is hosting an open day next week for local and national farmers.

Glanbia, the Agricultural Trust and the farm owners, the Phelan family, last year formed a new limited company, which has leased the 117 hectare farm from the land owners for at least a 15-year period.

James Murphy to head up IFA National Sheep Committee

At a meeting of the IFA National Sheep Committee in Dublin this week, James Murphy from Inistioge, Co Kilkenny was elected to the position of IFA National Sheep Committee chairman.

A sheep farmer from Fiddawn, Inistioge, James Murphy also farms livestock and tillage with his wife Chris and family. James took over the position of IFA National Sheep chairman from Henry Burns at the IFA AGM on Tuesday.

Glanbia Countrylife store is open for business
