Minister Phil Hogan has welcomed the latest progress in the Government’s decision to fast track its commitment to a multi-campus Technical University in the south-east.
In reply to a Dail question last week, Minister for Education, Ruairi Quinn revealed that a consultation process on draft criteria is being undertaken by the Higher Education Authority.
“The Authority hopes to sign off its formal advice to the Department of Education in November,” he added.
“Once the process is in place it will be open to institutes of technology to make applications for consideration for re-designation, including those in the south east. All applications will be considered under an independent assessment process.”
