Plain or purrrrrlll — Lesley is hit cat hat knitter
A Kilkenny woman was last week’s winner of the ‘Innocent Big Knit’ campaign in aid of Age Action Ireland.
Lesley Davin stole the show with knitted kitten hats for Innocent Smoothie bottles.
Lesley, who is from Bennettsbridge took her knitting inspiration from a bit of county pride and knitted the Kilkenny Cats hats. She also knitted a hat with "Five in a row" stitched into it, which could be hot property if the Kilkenny hurlers take their fifth All Ireland title in row this September — just the same time the innocent Big Knit little hats start appearing on the shelves.
She even knitted hats that go with the ‘buy one get one bee ‘campaign.
Other knitters can send in hats through the innocent Big Knit homepage
For those who fancy helping older people in Ireland keep warm this winter — all you need to do is knit some little woolly hats for innocent smoothie bottles.
For every behatted bottle sold in store, Innocent - will give 25c to Age Action. Innocent is aiming to knit 80,000 little hats this year - so get knitting.
It's a sad fact that every year in Ireland around 2,000 people over the age of 65 die from cold-related conditions. This is where the knitted goods come in. All monies raised from the innocent Big Knit this year will go towards supporting Age Action to help keep older people in Ireland warm.
