Women’s Network AGM elects new committee

Kilkenny Business Women’s Network held its AGM in the Ormonde Hotel on Tuesday evening where members elected their new committee for 2010.

The outgoing president Trish Finegan of Creative Catering thanked the members for all their support for the past two years and in her report she spoke about some of the highlights of the past year, which included the lunch with Sarah Newman on International Women’s Day in March and the lunch with Garret Byrne of Campagne restaurant to raise funds for Special Olympics.

The newly elected president, Dee Gibney of Dee Gibney Properties, thanked Finegan for her outstanding contribution to the network and for working tirelessly to promote business women in Kilkenny. At present Kilkenny Business Women’s Network is represented on the Strategic Policy Committee of the Kilkenny County Council and on the board of directors of the Kilkenny Chamber and County Enterprise Board.

Kilkenny Business Women’s Network supports women in business in Kilkenny.

“We are a group of enthusiastic, talented entrepreneurs and business women, operating in Kilkenny city and county, that want to make a significant contribution to the business and community life of Kilkenny,” said Ms Gibney.

“We believe we can bring more balance to the decisions and policies made for the future of our communities.”

Joining Kilkenny Network is a great way to develop your business, network with like-minded business women, improve your skills base through monthly meetings and seminars, and meet new people and make new friends.

The Network meets once a month on a Tuesday evening in Kilkenny city and also meets informally for drinks, lunches, etc, to get to know each other’s business.
