With more than 130 entries into the annual Langton’s League, players are reminded to get their matches under way.
It is a mixed doubles team event, and due to the large entry, the finals date has been pushed forward to Thursday, December 17.
The tennis club Christmas party will take place on Saturday, December 12 with a festive tennis tournament in the club, followed by food and entertainment in the clubhouse.
The annual general meeting of the Kilkenny Lawn and Tennis Club will take place in the clubhouse in Archersfield on Wednesday, November 25 at 8 pm. This is the forum for discussion of major club issues, and the announcement of the new committee to lead the club to 2010; all members are encouraged to attend to support the club.
Last Friday night saw the weekly American Tournament get back in action, section 1 winners were Bob O’Brien and Hilda Anthony, and runners up were Ed Brennan and Miriam Walsh. Section 2 winners were Noel Thorpe and Genevieve Corrigan, with runners up spot taken by Heather Hogan and Mary O’Sullivan.
