Galway company in fusion expansion

GALWAY FIRST, September 29, 2008

Galway-based company MarCon Computations International Ltd has developed new software enabling the company to target new markets in the aquaculture/mariculture industry and the fisheries agencies, by participating in InterTradeIreland’s FUSION programme.

Polish native Tomasz Dabrowski was teamed with experts at Queen’s University Belfast and placed with MarCon Computations in Galway, through the FUSION programme, and was helped by MarCon to develop a novel GIS-based software application that integrates sophisticated hydrodynamic water quality and shellfish lifecycle modelling.

Work begins on Galway train platforms

Iarnrod Eireann has began work to upgrade the Woodlawn and Attymon railways stations to accommodate the new railcars operating on the Galway route.

The platforms will be made 74 metres longer to accommodate the new trains, and lighting and other upgrades will be added to both stations.
