Commissioner visit a tribute to SCCUL mentoring programme
SCCUL Mentors, a structured mentoring programme established by SCCUL Enterprises celebrates its first year in operation. In 12 short months, over 180 local businesses have received free mentoring support from up to 80 established business figures and industry experts in Galway. Mentoring has been provided across a number of sectors including Finance, Sales, HR, PR & Marketing, Quality, and Business Planning. Speaking on the occasion of the first anniversary of the initiative Chairman of SCCUL Enterprises Padraig O’Callaghan said that said that feedback from the SCCUL Entrepreneurship Awards had provided the stimulus for the initiative.
Golden memories as Connacht Gold bids farewell to old name
Shareholders of Connacht Gold have endorsed a proposal to change the name of the co-operative to Aurivo Co-operative Society Ltd.
Shareholders who attended a special general meeting of the co-operative in Claremorris last Friday voted unanimously in favour of a proposal from the Connacht Gold board to change the name.
Galway companies highlight National Enterprise Week
A number of Galway-based companies will be showcasing their businesses at Bank of Ireland branches across the county as part of National Enterprise Week, which takes place fromMay 17 to 24.
According to Bank of Ireland at the start of National Enterprise Week, new and approved lending to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) has risen by over one quarter in the first three months of 2013, based on year-on-year figures.
