The Mervue Order of Malta is hosting the Galway Christmas Craft Fair on Saturday November 19. The event takes place from 11am to 5pm in the Menlo Park Hotel and entry is free.

There will be a range of Irish crafts including pottery, tasty treats, woodturning, paintings, glass work, and jewellery which will make ideal Christmas presents for all the family. A Leaving Cert student who tragically lost her life when her vehicle collided with another in Portumna on Bank Holiday Monday is to be laid to rest today.

Seventeen-year-old Claire Prendergast from Dangan, Golden, in Tipperary, had been the front seat passenger in a Nissan Micra car, which also contained two other female occupants, when it collided with a Mercedes-Benz at Thornfield, Portumna, at around 11.25am on October 31 last.
