Galway schools invited to compete for ‘Ireland’s Fittest’ title

For the second year in a row, a call has gone out to schools in Galway and around the country from Irish Olympians, sprinter Phil Healy and athlete David Gillick, who have joined forces with Fyffes in a quest to find Ireland’s Fittest School.

The Spanish Institute has been running for the last eight years and has become the centre of the Spanish language and Hispanic culture in Galway. Along with language courses, this new term the school will offer a variety of Hispanic cultural events such as tapas nights, movies, conversation classes, and pronunciation labs.

The concept of the World Butchers' Challenge is to develop an environment where butchers strive to exceed current industry practice in the areas of general workmanship, meat cutting, displaying and the creative usage of beef, lamb and pork product. The Yeats College class of 2022 were jubilant as they received their long-awaited Leaving Certificate results on Friday. Results achieved by students in this year’s examinations were truly phenomenal, with over 62% of students achieving 500 points or higher this year. Indeed 45% of its students achieved over 550 points. A magnificent 19% of students scored over 600 points, which is an amazing achievement.
