- Hughes Monica-Belfast 17th March 2012-Monicas son Gerard Daughter Maria Daughter in law Nancy and grandchildren Peter Maire and Sean would like to express their sincerest thanks to all those who sympathized and give mass cards on the recent passing of our beloved mother and grandmother-A special thanks to all those who made such a long journey to express their condolences.Your kindness and comforting words will not be forgotten.A Special thanks also to Fr Tadhg Quinn for all his prayers and support.A mass will be offered for all your intentions.. - SJOTHUN STAN South Park Terrace, Grattan Road, formerly of Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. The family of the late Stan Sjothun, his widow Mary and sons Trygve and Jon Paul, wish to thank all who offered condolences and supported us in our recent sad loss. Those that attended the removal and funeral service. Those that sent Mass offerings and messages of sympathy. The medical staff of the Oncology Department, University College Hospital, Galway. The paramedics, doctors and nurses that attended to Stan during his last hours. Special thanks to Cathriona O'Flaherty and the staff of O'Flaherty's Funeral Directors, the Dominican Fathers of St Mary's on the Hill, Claddagh, especially Father Dennis Murphy and Father Terence McLoughlin. Also much gratitude to Stan's friends and colleagues at the Galway City Partnership, the Galway Centre for Independent Living, The Galway Community Forum, NCBI Galway and Galway City Council. Month's Mind Mass will be offered in St Mary's Church, Claddagh, at 12 noon on Sunday 20th May.
- THORNTON MIKE Lydican, Oranmore, Co Galway, who passed away on 20th April 2012. Mike's wife Mary, his son Colin, daughters Niamh and Shauna, Colin's girlfriend Sarah and the Thornton and Reddington families would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to all those who showed such kindness and who gave enormous support to us after Mike's sudden and untimely death. Thank you to everyone who called to our home, attended his wake, removal, funeral Mass and burial. Thank you to all those who travelled long distances to be with us, sent Mass cards and messages of condolences and brought thoughtful gifts of food and refreshments. Thank you most sincerely to the Harrington family for helping Colin come from Australia so quickly. A special word of thanks to all our close relatives and friends and to our wonderful neighbours in Lydican and Carnmore. We were deeply touched by your constant presence and support and for Mike's guard of honour and bonfire as we left home. Heartfelt thanks to Fr Ian O'Neill who visited and prayed with us and for his beautiful homily and Mass. His kindness to us will always be remembered. Thank you also to Fr Tony Minitor and Fr Des Forde for attending and being with us and our family. Our deepest gratitude to Dr Brendan Day whose thoughtfulness and continued support is so much appreciated. Sincere thank you to all those who made Mike's funeral Mass so touching. Thank you to Ger and Muriel who took such care in arranging it, Martin Silke, Joan Coleman, Celia, Ciara and Emily whose music and singing were so comforting. Thank you to those who read, brought gifts and served Mass and to Sinead for her words of appreciation. Many thanks to Robert and his staff at Conneely's Funeral Undertakers for showing us such comfort and professionalism and who ensured that everything was done on Mike's funeral days with such dignity. Thank you to Micheal, Mike's brother Paul and our wonderful neighbours who prepared Mike's final resting place with such care and attention. Thank you to Mike O'Connor and his wonderful staff in Loughgeorge who provided such a lovely meal and hospitality and also to the girls and committee, past and present, of Carnmore Camogie Club for their Guard of Honour and presence. Colin, Niamh and Shauna have wonderful young friends and we are so grateful to them all as a family for their continued support and kindness through these very difficult times. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our sincere gratitude and appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for your intentions. Mike's Month's Mind Mass will be held in the Church of the Assumption and St James, Claregalway on Sunday 20th May at 11am. May he rest in Peace.

- KELLY JEREMIAH (JERRY) Formerly of Whitestrand Park, Hazel Park, Glennaslat, Monivea and Worcester, Mass, USA. The family of the late Jerry, would like to thank most sincerely all those who travelled long distances to the funeral, sent floral tributes, Mass cards and messages of sympathy. A very special thanks to those on both sides of the Atlantic who were of great support to our family at this very sad time. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for all your intentions.
