How to re-imagine the works of Wilde

Pan Pan Theatre present The Importance Of Nothing

IMAGINE A therapy class in a prison, where the therapist tests the prisoners’ patience and imaginations through the work of Oscar Wilde. This is Pan Pan Theatre's The Importance Of Nothing.

This comedy, directed by Gavin Quinn, and starting Andrew Bennett, Sonya Kelly, Mark O'Halloran, Anna Shiels McNamee and Dylan Tighe, with music by Si Schroeder, is at the Town Hall Theatre, on Monday April 23 at 8pm.

Drama therapist Lady Lancing challenges the prisoners to refashion or completely overhaul Wilde’s material. The play has already generated considerable critical acclaim. "Mark O’Halloran and Andrew Bennett act out the melodramatic climax of A Woman of No Importance in hilarious style," said the Irish Independent. “So brilliant is the humour you could almost miss the subtle yet powerful interrogations taking place," said The Arts Review. The Irish Times said Pan Pan "employ a rigorous and wide-ranging understanding of their subject in order to fracture him in so many disarming ways".
