Galway WFC welcome Shelbourne

Galway Women’s FC are at home in Eamonn Deacy Park on Saturday evening at 6pm when they host Shelbourne Ladies.

Galway, who were due to play UCD Waves last weekend, saw their trip to Dublin postponed on Sunday due to heavy snow falling in the foothills of the Dublin mountains making the pitch in Kilternan unplayable.

Shelbourne have added to their squad in the off season, signing Noelle Murray from Glasgow City and Jess Gleeson from Wexford Youths. However in their season opener on St Patrick's Day, they were caught cold and went down 4-1 to an on-fire Peamount United.

This weekend’s game will therefore have the added spice of both sides looking to gain their first points of the season and is sure to be a tightly contested affair.

It has also been announced both sides have been drawn against each other in the first round of the WNL Shield, due to be played in the capital on April 7.
